Hummingbird Clearwing Moth

Or should I say the common clearwing moth. I just don't think they're all that common (I've only seen a couple over the years) and I don't think they're that common in the looks department either. These guys are weird in a beautiful way. They move like hummingbirds, they act like hummingbirds and some of them are as big as hummingbirds. They have little furry "jackets," tight little black cinched belts and the bottom halves of them look like shrimp tails made of leather. I love them. I wish my little camera had a faster shutter speed because this is the best image I could get. I must say the phlox looks good however.
