So ugly he's cute, so cute she's...well, you'll find out

Last night I was bringing Violet in the for the night when I saw something move very slowly along the deck railing, almost obscured by the shadow. Creep........creep.......creep.

I watched while he made his way forward and kept watching while he tentatively made an upward turn. I kind of knew what he was but was curious as to why he was moving sooooooooo slow. When his head finally appeared over the rail, he stopped moving and gave me a good long staredown. I was probably the first living thing he had ever seen in his newly hatched life and I know that little baby face of his was hiding true panic. What to do? What to do? He couldn't fly yet because he was still fresh from climbing out of his shell.

So what did he end up doing? He decided to stay put. What did I do? I ran in the house and got the camera. That little bug (for being so ugly) was too cute not to photograph.

And besides, he reminded me of somebody.......

Stella, the bird who apparently is part cicada.

Pix-I've been bad about posting because all I could write about was the constant rain. Doesn't make for anything worth writing, or for that matter....reading! And then it stopped raining...and that's boring. And 100 degree heat. That's boring. I got a book of meteorology out from the library and oh my.....most boring subject ever. So why am I so consumed with weather? I haven't figured that out yet. It will probably have a boring answer when I do find it. Hahaha.

Eve-Well, I sure didn't know they were related. I could not believe it when that little parrot face showed up out of the dark.

Mental-More demon than human. :-) It's true.

Maureen-It made me laugh too.

PS, I guess the chirping I hear (in NYC!!!) are cicadas too.

Maureen-Oh my. You can hear my cicadas way out there? Makes sense. I don't think they've ever been louder.

Maria I know. It has been one dang boring summer because of the weather. Summer has been a non event. I think the fact that you are consumed with the weather is tied into the land in Kansas. I have not a clue as to why I feel that but there it is and I'm stickin to it! There is nothing you could write that I would find not worth reading. But I know sometimes it is just hard to get a post out.

Aw, PIx. What a sweet comment. Thanks for the encouragement because it is very much appreciated. I have the most pointless blog ever but the stuff I write about is what makes me happy and if it makes a couple other people happy....well, we're a weird lot, aren't we?
